Invisalign

Invisalign is an invisible teeth re aligner that helps to move misshapen teeth into the correct position. Invisalign realigners differ from traditional metal braces as they are barely visible and can be moved while the recipient is eating or cleaning his or her teeth. They are not suitable for everyone but are particularly appropriate for those whose teeth are not too crooked.

If your dentist in Burlington, Ontario decides you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign, X-rays, photos and impressions will be made of the teeth which, will be used to make a 3 D digital image. This enables the dentist to formulate a suitable plan including the precise movement of the teeth and a calculation of the time it will take to complete the treatment. No case is quite the same when it comes to treatment with Invisalign but typically each individual treatment with Invisalign takes about 12 months to complete. As far as teenagers are concerned the treatment time is similar to that of traditional metal braces.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Once your treatment plan has been decided by your Burlington, Ontario dentist clear custom made aligners are custom designed to fit your teeth. The aligners are constructed of a comfortable, smooth plastic which is free of BPA. It will not cause any irritation to your gums and cheeks. You will need to wear them during the day, and take them out when eating or brushing and flossing.

At around two weekly intervals you will start to wear a different set of aligners as your treatment progresses through various stages. To ensure the best results and an early result, the aligners should be worn from between 20 and 22 hours every day, throughout the treatment programme. As your teeth pass through the different stages they will become much straighter and once the treatment is over you may need to wear a retainer which keeps your teeth where you want them.

In order to achieve the desired results you should follow the instructions of your Burlington, Ontario dentist carefully as any slip up will not bring the desired results so quickly.
